Banana cream smoothie

Good morning, friends! This morning’s workout was a really good one. I think I’m realizing that in 4 days I’ll be in a bikini, so it’s time to get serious. Not like 4 days is enough time to actually make any changes, but it’s a nice thought.

I got up at 4:30 to get to the gym right at opening time, then hopped on a treadmill. I quickly worked up the intensity during my run and did a few minutes of sprinting at the end, finishing at 25 minutes. After my run, I grabbed a medicine ball to complete my 300 reps ab workout.

This workout is one of my favorites and I find myself doing it at the gym a lot. Using a heavy medicine ball is key and helps make sure you’re nice and sweaty afterwards.

Once I got home, I decided a smoothie sounded perfect, so I made this lovely banana cream smoothie:

I used Nutzo butter in mine and it was delicious! My stomach is not happy with my choice of dinner last night, so I needed some healthiness in my tummy today.

Riley’s a great cook, but he’s not always a healthy cook. Last night he made roasted potatoes and hot sausage, which was fine except it was super fatty and there was a bit too much oil on the potatoes. I ate it anyway, though, cause I was hungry. I will be cooking vegetables tonight in response.

I’m keeping it short and sweet today since I have to run, but have a great day!

Does your significant other cook? Are they a healthy cook?

  1. Haha I love that you are going to make veggies in response to the oil, lol. I agree that once you don’t eat all that fatty stuff, eating it again makes my stomach hurt! Great job on the workout, I am going to use the core workout!

  2. Yum this smoothie looks like a great one!!

I think I always panic close to wearing a bathing suit but with not enough time to change it šŸ˜‰

I’ve had to train Nick when he cooks to use less oil but it doesn’t always work. I tend to do more cooking because I cook healthier šŸ˜‰

  3. C cannot cook for his life! He would say otherwise but the one time I let him cook a meal it sucked. I think he got overwhelmed by the spice cupboard and just gave up lol. We leave the cooking to me but as a result he has to suffer constant healthy cooking!

  4. Mhmm great combination of flavors! I love using yogurt to give smoothies some extra calcium/protein and creaminess, but have never used banana flavored before! Thanks for the inspiration šŸ™‚

  5. New reader over here! I am so glad I found your blog! I love the ab workout; I will be giving that a try! Haha my husband doesn’t usually cook at our house, but when he does it’s usually not healthy. šŸ™‚ He would probably say his specialty is queso. šŸ˜‰
